E53: Last Day in Gus’s Fashions: An AR Story on Wretched Excess

Abstract or Description

This project imagines a future interaction of Wretched Excess, the AR storytelling app created by Professor Hunter’s lab that recreates past stories from MTV history. For this extension of the main app, I concentrated on the story of Gus Torregrossa, the owner of a hip-hop fashion store in St. Louis during MTV's heyday. Presently, Wretched Excess offers a simple overlay of video footage. My goal was to create a more immersive experience centered around the final day of Gus's Fashions store, evoking a sense of melancholy and prompting users to explore lost memories. I reimagined the aesthetics, storyline, environment, and AR experiences.
