Abstract or Description

Aerospace Engineering is a complex future field full of possible innovations. Fluid dynamics, structures, propulsion, and more are all very important aspects of aerospace engineering. In an aircraft, one of the most important disciplines to be addressed is the aerodynamics of the wing. The cross-sectional shape of the wing (known as an airfoil) plays a key role in this discipline. Lift, Drag, and the Lift-to-Drag (L/D) Ratio are all the calculations that go into how the aerodynamics of a wing works. We test these calculations using simulations because physical testing is full of hard labor and is not very cost effective. I am specifically looking for the aerodynamics of a F-22 Raptor wing. In this project, I developed a new design of the airfoil and sent it through a simulator to see if I could improve its current coefficient of drag number.
