Each year 600 Million pounds of bread are lost due to the growth of mold and fungi. 70,000 people are hospitalized due to mold ingestion each year.The purpose of this project is to reduce these tragedies, waste, and resources using a natural ingredient like turmeric. Turmeric known as the golden spice found in India has  an authentic herb, found in the ground. 1m tall with underground rhizomes called Curcuma longa, this herb also produces a very beautiful, white flower. Turmeric is part of the ginger family, where curcumin is the main ingredient. Curcumin helps the turmeric display its yellow color. Turmeric is  used in a lot of curry powders and as a spice for flavor and health benefits. Turmeric can be grown in monsoons of southeast Asia. Turmeric is part of the Indian Ayurveda. In ancient times when there was limited knowledge of medicine, this natural herb was used to kill the bacteria in wounds and help cure health issues. Including several other benefits when ingested by human turmeric can help reduce inflammation, decrease cancer risk, relieve arthritis, help reduce hair fall. Turmeric reduces fungi levels and kills bacteria including the GRAM POSITIVE & GRAM NEGATIVE. Turmeric has 100 components, the main component is votail oil and the turmerone of the plant's root. since turmeric has so many benefit we can encounter this Into either the process of bread making, and reduce mold growth.


Abstract or Description


According to Oklahoma State University about 600 million pounds of bread is lost each year because of spoilage. Turmeric, an authentic Indian herb. Curcumin, being the main ingredient,  has antioxidant properties. During the Ancient time period, when people had limited knowledge of medicine, the Indian Ayurveda used this herb as a way to kill bacteria in wounds, and used it in the Indian cuisine with black pepper for its antiseptic properties. Overall, this herb helps the human body fight diseases and bacteria. With the 600 million bread lost each year, some of it is mistaken to be perfectly okay, and contaminated by humans. According to sustainable America More than 70,000 people are hospitalized due to molds each year. In order to reduce these tragedies and waste, can turmeric be used to reduce the amount of bread mold?
