Abstract or Description

I will be looking at the effects of different gonopodium (male Trinidadian guppy reproductive organ) sizes on the reproductive success of males. As well I will be looking on the events of sperm bundle count on male reproductive success. Males will be paired, one with a larger gonopodium, and one with a smaller gonopodium, and placed in the tank with a female. All babies born will undergo paternity testing to be able to determine any trends with gonopodium size in relation to babies sired. The experiment will run for six litters before all babies are sent for genetic testing.
