Ottoman Empire Millet System

Presenter(s)

Hannah Morse

Presentation Number

Abstract or Description

The Ottoman Empire had a unique form of government that was meant to combine the different peoples living in the Empire with minimal conflict. Each religion had their own court system that ruled their people with their own laws that were under the law of the Ottoman Empire as a whole. There were many readings that we covered in class that I used to research the system as well as how it relates to The Dangers of a Single Story.
