Edward Franklin Frazier Presentation

Edward Franklin Frazier was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1894, he later attended a segregated school system in which he was awarded a scholarship to Howard University. Howard University was a predominantly black university, where their main mission was to promote peace and social justice. In the time that he was born, the Jim Crow laws were passed and remained extremely prevalent throughout his life. Frazier’s contributions to social work were that he became director of the Atlanta University School of Social Work, as well as directed a social work program at Howard University. Frazier made it a point to study the rural African American population as well as the poverty issues in the south.
