Abstract or Description

The purpose of my science fair project, testing which out of 4 liquids will dissolve skittles the fastest, is to see the outcome of the skittles when I put them through different substances which are Mountain dew, Water, Apple Cider Vinegar, and Oil. For my science fair project, I chose “Which liquid dissolves Skittles the fastest.” I chose this project because I wanted to see how skittles react when putting them into liquids, and seeing how they could change. My hypothesis is that, if I leave the skittles in the liquids, I think the one in the Apple Cider vinegar will dissolve fastest because the Apple Cider Vinegar seems to be the most acidic. My procedure was putting different colored skittles in each of the liquids, and seeing how fast, and how long it took for the skittles to melt. For my results, the Mountain Dew was the fastest dissolver, with a time of 25 secs., Apple Cider Vinegar had 31 secs., Water had 36 secs., and Oil never dissolved. My project contributed to chemistry and had many factors in it.
