Welcome to the 2025 UNC Charlotte Summer Research Symposium!

The Summer Symposium celebrates the intellectual exploration and creativity of our students.  The presentations represent nearly 30,000 hours of collaborative work between students and mentors in the labs, libraries, studios, field sites, and with community partners. We encourage you to engage broadly with the diverse projects representing 7 colleges from across the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

The research presented here represents multiple National Science Foundation supported programs, the Charlotte Teachers Institute, the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation, and the OUR Summer Scholars.

This Symposium site contains pre-recorded summaries for all of the presentations that you can see in person on July 25, 2025. This site allows attendees to engage with student projects from anywhere in the world at any time! We hope that you will support our students both virtually and in person if you're in the Charlotte area. The in-person Summer Research Symposium will be held in the Popp Martin Student Union from 9:30am-2:30pm. A schedule is provided below.

9:45 AM - 10:00 AM - Welcome

10:00 AM - 11:00 AM - First Session of Presentations (340 and 261 rooms)

11:00 AM - 11:15 AM - Poster and Presenter Swaps 

11:15 AM - 12:15 PM - Second Session of Presentations (340 and 261 rooms)

12:15 PM - 1:15 PM - Lunch for Presenters, Mentors, and Attendees (back of 340)

1:15 PM - 2:15 PM - Third Session of  Presentations (340 and 261 rooms)

2:15 PM - 2:30 PM Thank You and Clean Up

Navigating and Commenting on Presentations

1. Find presentations via the "Presentations" tab at the top of this page. We recommend searching by Abstract # or presenters name in the Search bar.

2. You may also use the filter categories on the left to find posters by College, page numbers at the bottom, or the search bar at the top to find presentations of particular interest.

3. Click on a presentation to view it in full along with the abstract and recorded video presentation. Use the screen controls to zoom in and out to see the poster details.

4. You may leave comments and questions on presentations, to be responded to asynchronously by presenters.

5. Questions and comments on presentations are strongly encouraged! Scroll down to find the comment area at the bottom of each presentation. Presenters will be notified via e-mail of any comments and questions; attendees will be notified if a presenter replies to their comment or question.

6. Please remember our commitment to advancing a culture and community of mutual respect at UNC Charlotte; refrain from negative comments.
