Welcome to 27th Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium!

Thank you for visiting the 2024 Undergraduate Research Symposium! The Symposium celebrates the diversity of undergraduate research and creative activities on campus as students share their research and creative projects. The online Symposium will begin at 8:00AM (CST) on Monday, April 15, 2024 and will be officially active through 5:00 PM (CST), Friday, April 19, 2024 which coincides with Undergraduate Research Week. In addition, there are two in-person presentation events! Details are listed below.

Please explore the research presentations created by students to highlight the work they have been doing, and feel free to leave comments to interact with the research presenters. Everyone will be able to access the event, but you must have a *@ku.edu email address to comment on a presentation.

In-Person Presentations

Tuesday, April 16th, 3:30-5:00pm, Alderson Auditorium, Kansas Union 

ACE Talks: Accessible, Creative, & Engaging Talks  - Three ACE Talk Winners will each deliver a 15-minute research presentation with a 10-minute Q&A session.

3:30 – 4:00pm  Alyson Honeyman, Senior majoring in Biochemistry | Mentor: Roberto De Guzman

Presentation: “Subcloning and Mutagenesis of Shigella Virulence Proteins Involved in Antimicrobial Resistance" 

4:00 – 4:30pm  Logan Edmonson, Senior majoring in Behavioral Neuroscience | Mentor: Mark Landau
Presentation:  “Effects of End Times Messaging on Temporal Horizons"

4:30 - 5:00pm   Diana Nguyen, Senior majoring in Psychology | Mentors: Glenn Adams and Syed Muhammad Omar
Presentation:   “Identity-Relevant Perceptions of Immigration among Asian Americans"


Wednesday, April 17th, English Room, Kansas Union 

This also serves as the 4th ACE Talk awardee presentation.
