Abstract or Description

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is an overarching term used to describe nonalcoholic steatohepatitis and cirrhosis. In the last several years, the COVID-19 pandemic has spiked obesity rates which has been known to cause NAFLD. The aim of this retrospective study was to assess the benefits of the treatment of NAFLD with one of the phospholipids which is available in the United States as a dietary supplement. We analyzed existing data received from a doctors office, which included liver function tests that were quantitative for the statistical analyses, which included the p-value and odds ratio. After reviewing the data we found that Essentiale Forte was effective in treating NAFLD, supporting that this supplement can be useful in combating NAFLD.
