This presentation is an adaptation of my undergraduate honors thesis. It focuses on the electronic communication channels people use in their closest relationships. I wanted to apply the layers of electronic intimacy model to a large representative population of U.S. adults. I also wanted to examine generation differences for digitally communicating. Overall, people use phone call and texting in their closest relationships. People tend to use a larger variety of channel options with younger adults, and fewer with older adults. The results support the layers of electronic intimacy model, and media matching.
