Thank you for visiting the 2022 Undergraduate Research Symposium! The Symposium celebrates the diversity of undergraduate research and creative activities on campus as students share their research and creative projects. The Symposium will be launched at 8:00AM (CST) on Saturday, April 23, 2022 and will be officially active through 5:00 PM (CST), Friday, April 29, 2022. Please explore the research presentations created by students to highlight the work they have been doing, and feel free to leave comments to interact with the research presenters. Everyone will be able to access the event, but you must have a *@ku.edu email address to comment on a presentation. This event is being sponsored by the Center for Undergraduate Research. Celebrating Research and Creative Accomplishments Across Campus in Person 

Over the past two plus years, students and mentors have met the challenges of pursuing their research and creative projects in the pandemic with energy, imagination, and determination, allowing exploration and discovery to continue across campus. In 2020 and 2021 we had to celebrate the research accomplishments of the students as well as the award-winning undergraduates and undergraduate research mentors virtually, with the help of wonderful video tributes to everyone's hard work assembled by Vice Chancellor of Research Simon Atkinson and his team (viewable below).

This year we want to celebrate your accomplishments with you in person, so we invite you to drop in anytime between 4 PM to 6 PM on Wednesday, May 4  in the Beren Petroleum Center (Slawson Hall Rm G192). At 4:30 we will be presenting the winners  of the Courtwright Award for Undergraduate Research Excellence, the K. Barbara Schowen Undergraduate Research Mentor Award, the Undergraduate Research Mentor Award, as well as honoring the nominees from this year, and the nominees and awardees from 2020 and 2021.
