When salt is added to boiling water, it changes the density of water. When smaller objects, like an egg is added to the water, the egg will float one the water density is higher. In my experiment, I used a different amount of salt to measure the height of the float. This helped me determine the change in density. The problem I was trying to solve was the buoyance of an egg. I wanted to see how much salt was needed to prevent the egg from sinking. The motivation for this project was to test the change in the density of water compared to object in the water. The results could be used to demonstrate why objects float in naturally salty waters like the Dead Sea.  My results were if you add 3 Tablespoons of salt to 3 cups of water, the egg will float to the top. In conclusion, the more salt you add the denser water becomes. This allows for smaller objects, like eggs, to float.
